THE TRIP spin class is a top-rated virtual reality immersive experience. Arrive at least 15 minutes early to ensure that you get your favorite bike. Getting to class with plenty of time to spare also gives you time to set up your bike, introduce yourself to the instructor, and get a feel for things.
Modify your bike
To reach your full potential, you need to make sure you are comfortable on the seat. Adjust your bike to fit your body. When adjusting your bike, you can change the height of the seat, the distance of the seat from the handlebars and the height of the handlebars. Allow your instructor to help you and walk you through the process.
Download the free BODY BIKE® app
For you to be able to track your progress and understand what you achieved during the workout, use the free BODY BIKE® app. The app wirelessly connects to the SMART+ indoor bike via Bluetooth and allows you to track the speed your biking, the power/watts, the heart rate, the cadence, distance, and calories burned. These are all displayed on your smartphone during the workout and act as a significant motivator.
Everyone works at different speeds.
When you experience your first TRIP spin class, you’ll notice that you’ll have to work with a range of speeds and resistances. For your first class, try to play around with these aspects and get a good understanding of what the class calls for. Something important to remember is that everyone tends to work themselves at different levels, so don’t be alarmed. Work at your pace and climb your way up. The audio-visual experience is mesmerizing; you won’t realize how fast 40 minutes have passed.
Resistance is key
The key to an excellent TRIP spin workout is using a range of resistances. Each bike has a knob that allows you to adjust the resistance you need to use to enable you to follow the path designed for the TRIP. Your instructor will tell you when to alter the resistance depending on whether you’re meant to go uphill or downhill. However, no matter what the instructor calls out, listen to your body first, and make sure you don’t exceed your maximum. Getting a good workout also means being safe.
Remember to stretch
As you do with every high-intensity class, you must use 5 minutes after the TRIP spin class to stretch. This allows you to cool down and reward yourself. Stretching at the end of a workout allows your body to relax and save yourself from soreness the next day. Not only this but stretching your muscles out helps you build the muscles you just trained.
